Comments OCEAN HUNTER I- this boat only carries 6 passengers and should not be confused with Ocean Hunter III.

I would recommend this liveaboard. As expected, the diving was great and we went to all the signature dive sites: Blue Corner, Ulong Channel, Pelelui, two wrecks, etc and with only 6 divers had the sites pretty much to ourselves. There was one occasion when we pulled up to a dive site and it was crowded so we went elsewhere and came back later when it was much quieter. The Captain, Troy, also is a DM and is exceptionally good in both roles. Richard, the other DM, is relatively new in this role and is a bit of a nanny DM but I must admit I appreciated seeing the Crocodile fish he pointed out. They ran the dive deck well and helped me out when I had a problem with my gear. Half the diving was off the big boat and the other half off the tender.

The food was great and abundant. Roy is excellent and worked well with my seafood allergy. I was told that the seafood served was fresh and well prepared however. I don't know how he produced these great meals out of that little galley but he did so with good humor and efficiency at all times. All meals were served at the table, family style, with Roy frequently checking to see who needed seconds, etc.

The accomodations are cramped but the boat is as advertised. The salon is not suitable to hang out in for a long time but you can tell that from the deck plans. If I were to go back to Palau I would book the Master Cabin. We had a problem with our AC but stuff like that can happen- it was confined to our cabin. It happened on Saturday night and they had someone out there Monday who came out on a boat- it must have cost a fortune.

So I would do this one again. We booked through Reef Rainforest and Mike did a good job too. He gave me several options for pre-LOB rooms and Carolines Resort was one of them. We loved it there. You cannot beat hot breakfast delivered to your private balcony overlooking the great view. The staff was friendly and extremely halpful and the resort includes passes to the beach at Palau Pacific Resort with the price.

UW Photo Comments This is a small boat so there was not a lot of room on the camera table. Need more outlets. Good enough that I would not let this deter me from going on this boat[None]
