Comments We flew continental to tortola. Others in group flew to St Thomas(STT) andt took ferry to Tortola.That is cheaper.

We chartered 43’ monohull sailboat from Conch Charters. It was not fast, but easy to sail and forgiving.
We rented scuba tanks, BCD’s, and regulators and fishing tackle from Last Stop Sports.

Scuba diving was wonderful. BVI has lots of soft corals and sponges that make many sites like a brush patch. We saw lots of big lobsters, armadas of small squid, schools of sennet, many big barracuda, eagle rays and turtles. We saw sharks while snorkelling near surf zone, or from boat, but none during dive. Also quite a few lionfish :(
BVI has several good wrecks, inc. the Rhone, and Wreck Alley.
List of dive sites:
Norman Is.:The Indians; Carvel Rock;
Peter Is-Dead Chest: Painted Walls and NW
Cooper Is.: Wreck Alley, Red Bluff;
Salt Is. The Wreck of the Rhone,
Ginger Is. Alices Backside;
Great Dog: South Bay.

There are sveral more sites that we could not do because of water conditions. We would have liked to dive Alice in Wonderland, South of Ginger Is., and West Dog Is.

Snorkelling was particularly good at the Baths and Eustacia Is. on Virgin Gorda; The Caves and The Indians on Norman Is.
