Comments This was a moderately priced shore excursion ($99 for a 2-tank dive). The dive boat was berthed a short walk from the cruise ship. The QM2 group was augmented with some divers from a HAL ship for a total of 20 divers. The boat was large with a good selection of rental gear in good condition (included in the price). The boat trip to the dive site was quite short. We were divided into two groups of ten divers with no consideration of experience. After a decent dive briefing we entered the water. I had a problem with an air leak that was quickly fixed with a new rig. The first dive site was called "Supermarket" because of the high number of lobsters but none were seen. This dive was shallow (30 feet) and short (43 minutes). We had a short surface interval, a good dive briefing, then dove two of the five Navy barges that were sunk after World War 2. This dive was also shallow (39 feet max but generally about 30 feet) and also short (43 minutes). The divemasters provided basic guiding but little in the way of pointing out sealife. While the operation was definitely safety conscious, it was clear that they were on a tight schedule. While this excursion was relatively inexpensive, I'm not sure that it provided a good value.
