Comments We drove down to Morehead City from Richmond, Va. We had arranged for three days of two tank boat diving with Olympus Dive Center. Accommodations were at the Olympus Dive Center “Dive Lodge”. The Dive lodge was just a bunkhouse, rustic but clean, some rooms having 4 bunks and some having 8. If you don’t mind sharing a bathroom and showers with other people, and bunking with up to 8 people in a room, then it is a great bargain. The dive operation and boat were very good. The main problem is the weather: out of the five days, the first two were blown out due to heavy swells.

This was the best trip I have taken to North Carolina as the weather cooperated all three days and we got offshore to some spectacular wrecks. North Carolina is definitely worth a dive trip, but it has to be understood that conditions offshore are unpredictable, and you have to be prepared for canceled boat trips. On good days, the wreck diving here is incredible.
