Comments Dived the USS Oriskany from the mv H2O Below, thru MDT Divers in Pensacola. Dive shop provided standard dive equipment and made a computer available after the dives to view images taken. MDT Divers made me feel like a member of their group not just a paying customer. Thanks, guys!! CAPT Douglas runs a tight ship on the H2O Below. He and the (unpaid/tips only) crew/DM take good care of all the divers. The DM accompanied divers onto the USS Oriskany, but didn't herd them or keep them from exploring what they wanted. One of them showed me where an octopus was & and I got a great photo. The USS Oriskany is huge . . . no point in seeing the flight deck tho, it's at about 130 ft, and there's not much to see. Divers concentrate on the island; not a whole lot of life. Due to weather conditions (Hurricane Faye on the way) we dived only 2x (day 3 of a 4 day trip), but frankly I can't see diving a lot on the "O" unless you plan to spend more time at depths beyond 130 ft, which means deco, tech, or rebreather. Highly recommend MDT Divers and the H2O Below.
