Comments LTS is based in Volente on Lake Travis, Texas, 15 miles outside of Austin. It is run by Capt. Robert Weiss, and this is the 11th year of operation.
A large pontoon boat, "THE GIANT STRIDE" with an enclosed cabin, is the dive boat. It comfortably seats eight divers.
Numerous dive sites in Lake Travis, ranging from a sunken Shaker plant, Hippie Hollow, Wreck Alley, and the favorite, Starnes Island.
Starnes Island is an island that attracts the majority of the party barges, and it is a constant treasure hunt for money, cell phones, unopened drinks, smart watches, and designer Sunglasses! The PADI certification "Sun Glass Hunter" was created based upon diving on Starnes Island.
Fish life is abundant, with Bass, Drum, Carp, and Catfish being the large fish, with an occasional Alligator Gar [ No Alligators].
Another encouraged activity is trash collection, with divers bringing up bags of trash from the bottom.
Safety is always a paramount concern, and the divers are briefed extensively prior to the dive.
A very good dive experience, and highly recommended.
