Comments We dove the Vandenburg with Key West Dive Center. We met at the dive shop and checked in then they set up our gear while we analyzed our nitrox mix. The divemaster and captain loaded our gear onto the truck and we followed them to the dock where they loaded our gear onto the boat. It was a 20 minute ride to the Vandenburg where we were given a thorough briefing. The divemaster placed a line from the back of the boat to the mooring line so we could follow it down to the wreck. The first dive was mostly on the superstructure of the wreck and we followed her around the area. The visibility was not great but we could see the entire satellite array on the deck. After a one-hour surface interval, in which the operator provided drinks and snacks, we entered for the second dive. This time, we followed her into the wreck, which had many openings so even my claustrophobic buddy had no problem entering. Overall, I thought they did a great job of ensuring everyone's enjoyment of the dives. There were only six divers on the boat that day so we had plenty of room. I like that they set up the gear and took it off the boat when we returned. Key West Dive Center provides a day pass to the yacht club where they dock. This was a great feature since we were driving to Key Largo that afternoon and could shower and change before we left. We rinsed our gear at the dive shop, had lunch, and picked it up on our way out of town. I thought they were a professional group who went out of their way to make the diving easy and enjoyable.
