Comments Turk's Head Inn now closed and Arawak Inn gone (burned). Osprey Beach is remodeled and very nice. We had a standard suite with refrigerator, toaster oven, microwave and coffee maker. Bring along coffee and snacks to save a bit by eating in the room, grocery shopping is minimal on the island. All rooms face the ocean. Food throughout the island is basic but OK. Courtyard Cafe, across the street from the Osprey, has great breakfasts and lunches. Mooky Pooky Pizza has the best pizza and will deliver - it is downtown, off the beaten track; if you walk there, ask directions. Visit the museum, it is informative and well done. The island is very quiet, beaches are beautiful, but not much for non divers unless they want to just relax.

Diving was easy and beautiful. The reef is 5-10 minutes off shore, so boat trips are short and the surface interval is spent back on shore. Very healthy soft corals, hard corals a bit more damaged. Fish life in good shape, we saw a manta and eagle ray almost together, lots of turtles, a few sharks. Take the day trip to Salt Cay. We had lunch there in the Island Thyme Bistro, a cute little eatery with good food. 30 residents were on the island when we were there. Diving is not as good as it is off Grand Turk, though, because fishing was allowed until recently. Oasis Divers offered good service. I would love to go back to see the humpbacks with Everett, as he is apparently the expert on finding them (Jan, Feb, March). Dale is very helpful and set everything up for us (accomodations and flights to and from Provo).

We would definitely go back to Grand Turk and would dive with Oasis.
