Comments Our dive shop from Columbia, SC ( Wateree Dive Center) took 18 Divers for a return trip to Grand Turk & Bohio Resort. American Airline was 1 &1/2 hours late leaving Charlotte & several bags did not get to Grand Turk from Provo. The hotel is small ( 16 rooms) but certainly fine for Divers. It is clean, with a really nice efficient staff. The bar is good, as is the food. We were on a breakfast & lunch meal plan & it was really good with large portions. Oasis Divers ( Jason & brother Justin) were awesome. They were safely conscious as well as environmentally sensitive. They were great at pointing out small critters & had an uncanny sense of direction. The boat is a pontoon but with dive sites less than 5-10 minutes away, there was plenty of room. The dive sites are close with most dives being in 50-70 foot range although you could certainly go deeper on the wall. The viz was 100-125+ feet with only one dive having current. There were many turtles, fair number of sharks, eels, and a seahorse & octopus. Small critters were seen often & the corals appeared to be healthy for the most part without much evidence of hurricane damage. We only did 2 dives a day which left plenty of time for relaxation. We ate most nights at the hotel restaurant ( Guanahani) & it was fine. One night we visited the Osprey hotel & restaurant & it was really good. A trip to the cruise ship shopping center was done & certainly don’t need to repeat that wasted hour. Taxis are ok, reasonably priced. Donkeys, a few horses run free & are really fun to interact with. We look forward to returning again.
