Comments It was a good week, with fairly calm waters. Only six divers were aboard, which made the trip very comfortable.

We have been on this trip in the past. The boat is in good condition and the crew was very helpful and accommodating. Food was very well prepared, but typically only one entree, one side, etc. You could request a different meal with the cook beforehand.

The diving was very good, most of it being wall dives off the north end, West Caicos and French Cay. Very good marine life and surprisingly good coral (considering the hurricanes). The exception was French Cay, were the majority of the coral had been destroyed, but ironically, huge amounts of fish and sharks. Sharks were present, usually 5-10, on every dive. They were not shy about swimming through the group.

The dive masters were very good. Jo, the lead dive master, was exceptional. I have been with her on a dive trip before, and she did not disappoint. She pointed out many macro and small subjects I would have missed. Dozens of decorator crabs, skeleton crabs, nudis, headslugs, crabs of all kinds. I enjoy macro, so this was my kind of situation.

One of the most interesting dives was a night dive at French Cay, which is a nursery for Nurse Sharks. It was only Jo and I, and when I shined my light down on the reef it was swarming with two to three dozen nurse sharks, with Caribbean Reef Sharks circling at the edges, This continued for 45 minutes unabated.

UW Photo Comments A nice wide platform for cameras with a shelf below, compressed air, dedicated large camera basin. When entering, the dive team would get your camera, bring it down the steps, and hand it to you after jumping in. It was reversed at the end of the dive. The crew was very careful and respectful of all the camera equipment, large and small.
