Comments It was a short three day dive trip which was challenged by weather. First day was a totally flat sea and we dove French Key. Second and third days were very choppy. We never made it to West Caicos or Northwest point, but did dive the lee side of W. Caicos island on the wall. Diving conditions were sub-optimal.

We were very impressed by Dive Provo, whom we had used once before. The owner (Alan) was the captain for our boat all three days and was very accommodating. We enjoyed his Scottish stories and his hospitality. He worked hard to find places for us to dive with these poor conditions and dove along with us on about half of the dives. Very competent boat captain in tough sea conditions, and a good dive master as well. Overall, a very good hands-on owner. When we checked out, they didn't charge us for nitrox--presumably because of the weather conditions. Nice surprise. (We brought them our leftover booze as well!)

On our last dive, I went into deco by accident, mainly due to having my computer set wrong. Alan came down and hung out with me on the hang bar for the entire time. I was fine, but he was cautious/gracious. This was entirely my fault and embarrassing.

Even with the conditions, we saw a number of reef and nurse sharks, turtles, large barracuda, large grouper, etc. Even w/ poor conditions, Turks and Caicos is a great place to dive in my opinion.

We had nice dinners at Coco Bistro and Grace's Cottage. There are a number of decent restaurants on T&C--better than most Caribbean islands.
