Comments My dive buddy and I flew to Providenciales to take a long awaited trip on the Turks and Caicos Aggressor. We had this trip booked in August two years prior but due to lack of other booked passengers we were rerouted to the Cayman Aggressor (which was a wonderful trip!). Upon arrival, we stayed at the Turtle Cove Inn, which is being sold and turned into condos. It was fine for a day of sleeping and catching up, but not in the least bit fancy. We boarded the boat on Thursday and headed out of Turtle Cove on Friday morning. We had many nice dives on this trip including the Dome, Elephant Ear Canyon, Gulles, Pinnacles, Rock and Roll, RGI (West Caicos, which they can't always travel to if the weather doesn't cooperate), Spanish Anchor, and Stairway. We had several shark dives where the crew put out a "pyramid of passion" to lure the large Grey Reef Sharks to the area. This made for some exciting shark action, especially when the pyramid was opened at the end and the sharks went for the bait. I got some good video/photos of flying guynards, longhorn nudis, seahorses, eels, octopus, squid, a few turtles, rays, coral clinging crabs, ornate crabs, neck crabs, white speckled hermit crabs, and more! The night dives included nurse sharks following us to hunt by our lights and sea wasps (no one was stung because we carefully followed instructions on entry/exit). The crew was knowledgeable and helpful. We were the last week of a long run, and that was apparent a few times. I was diving Nitrox and the only issue I had was oxygen loading, due to the fact that many of the dives were deep and I accrued a lot of bottom time. I ended up sitting out a few dives (which I've never done on a liveaboard before), and this was most likely because I was diving with a Suunto, which is conservative and the fact that most of the diving is a bit deep, with not much shallow to the dives. My back up computer said I would be fine but I stuck with the Suunto. Most dives a divemaster was in the water, but unless there was something we wanted them to show us, we often struck out on our own. The coral and fish life was a bit disappointing, and in my opinion the best sites further out toward West Caicos. I'm not sure I would like the diving there if I only went around Provo. However, the shark diving made up for it. All in all the food was good, the weather calm and warm and we had a great week. One other thing...I thought that I would only need a skin, but ended up using my 3 mil due to the deep long dives.
