Comments This was our 4th visit to St. Vincent and we love the diving here. Luckily our first two trips were with legendary Bill Tewes, but his spirit lives on in the excellent divemasters Don and Calli and with the efficient Jackie handling office details. We like to stay at Young Island where the dive boat picks us up at the dock each day, but there are other hotel options to choose from. Dive sites range from 5 minutes to 30 minutes away and even on windy days in the harbor, almost all sites are scattered up the leeward side of the island so they remain calm. Dive St. Vincent uses two different boats depending on how many guests they have - entry on the smaller one is via backward roll and easy return via stern ladder. Plenty of dry storage in forward cabin. From the Northeast area, try JetBlue from JFK to Barbados and then instead of LIAT, try SVG Air from Barbados to St. Vincent. SVG meets arriving passengers and whisks them through a private area - no rechecking of bags and going through security a second time. Young Island is a special place - all staff are very friendly and welcoming - many have been there for decades.

UW Photo Comments Macro paradise for the small critter enthusiast/photographer. You will find species here that are only seen in Ned DeLoach books...Dives are unhurried and uncrowded with plenty of time to take photos - we have been private diving for most of our days with one additional guest on two days. You couldn't wish for more and Dive St. Vincent team knows how to spot them. You may meet and dive with Ray Haberman, an excellent photographer who has discovered a number of new (critter) species in St. Vincent.
