Comments Getting to the island is the main problem. LIAT airlines presently is the only airlines that services the islands. They have a hard time maintaining a schedule and an even harder time getting your bags to arrive with you. If you are lucky, you can make the trip in one day but usually it requires 2 days to arrive but only one day to get home. Puerto Rico or Barbados are the 2 main islands to use to get in and out of St Vincent. There are 2 dive shops on the island. Indigo and Dive St Vincent. I have been diving with Dive St Vincent for about 9 years now and have over 500 dives with him. Bill Tewes is famous for his knowledge of marine life. He has been diving there for over 25 years. The reefs are healthy and so far, the Lionfish are non-existent. Bill is rough around the edges but his passion is critters and every dive is a learning experience. When you dive with Bill, there is no set bottom time so the length of your dive depends on your air consumption. With this philosophy, a 2 tank dive is usually all you can do in a day. Any more than that, and you have to make special arrangements. Night dives are also available. I highly recommend new divers get their fins wet learning about critter diving. Once you learn that there is much more to diving than just big fish and reefs, you can go to almost any dive site and find something interesting to look at. To clarify the info above, the water temp ranges from a low of around 78 to a high of 85 but I'm there from July till Apr and that is the range it can be depending on the month you are there. I don't use a wet suit but a 3-5 mil is what most divers bring. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me.

UW Photo Comments No facilities at the shop. You prep your equipment and clean it at your hotel. Only a rinse tank on the boat. Don't let the lack of facilities prevent you from seeing what the St Vincent waters have to offer.
