Comments If you come to the island in the rainy season, you can expect to experience sunny, windy, rainy and cloudy days. Come in the dry season and you will just have less rain. During your stay, you may experience the waters to be calm & flat, choppy, surge, and an occasional current. Best to avoid coming if there is a full moon. The average daytime temp. hangs in the mid 80's and at night, the high 70's. Dive St Vincent is a small shop with 2 divemasters. Callie and DJ and between them, have about 45 years diving experience in these waters. Chances are, you will get to dive with each of them. The water temps in the summertime are around 83/84 and in the wintertime they drop to around 78/79. All depends on whose computer you are reading. There are 3 dive shops on the main island with Dive St Vincent being the oldest with over 30 years in business. The legendary Bill Tewes, now retired, made the island famous for its critters. That is why it is called the "Critter Capital of the Caribbean." To see some of the critters that I have photographed, go to www.raymondhaberman.smugmug.com/. Divers come for the critters, reef fish, corals and sponges. The "Big Three" are Sea Horses, Batfish and Frogfish. For big fish, you have to dive one of the Grenadine Islands. With the invasion of the Lionfish, many divers have tried spearfishing. Lionfish are the only fish that visitors are allowed to take.

Thanks for a very nice summary of diving SV Ray. We have been there several times (soon returning for 4th) and found it to be exactly as you describe. Great body of work on your photo website! Dave Allen www.daveandlisaphotography.com
