Comments TWO DIVES A DAY IS INCLUDED IN THE PRICE OF THE PACKAGE AND THE CREW WOULD NOT ACCEPT TIPS.

This is a very conservative dive operation which uses almost new 46 foot Newtons. If you haven't dived in a while they will insist on a putting you on a single shallow dive to check you out. The dive decks were wide. The maximum number of divers was 16 but usually 8 to 12. The boat was not croweded. It had a head, oxygen and usually 4 to 6 crew. There was fresh water, sandwiches and pastries. There is a 10 minute mini van ride from the resort to the dive boat. They have excellens scubapro gear but were attentive to rinsing the gear we brought from home.

There were almost no large fish but very large schools of small fish. I saw my first seahorse. I saw several scorpionfish, a flying gurnard, and oddles of bristleworms. the number, variety and colours of the sponges made almost every dive very colourfull. Many of the dives were slow drift dives.

The dives at the Pitons and Anse Chastanet were very colourful with lots of fish.

We took the 1 day trip to Martinique and dove Diamond Rock. The two dives were not well planned and currents were a problem. There was more to see in St. Lucia but the vis was great. The visit to Fort de France was interesting.

The Sandals resort was a lot of fun especially on New Year's Eve. They had 19 food tables around the pool (which was huge) serving fresh grilled lobster, scallops, fresh fish and shrimp plus amazing desserts. The food was good but not consistently outstanding. However, we always had one dish the we thoroughly enjoyed. We loved the resort which is gorgeous. The staff was amazing and we really enjoyed the resort. You have access to the facilities at the other two Sandals (the Grand and Halcyon). The Grand is north of the Regency, has its own dive boats which leave from the resort (another 15 minutes added to the 35 minute boat ride to the Pitons). There are motorized watersports at this beach as it has calmer waters. However, I thought the Regency was much more picturesque.

We thoroughly enjoyed the trip. The diving was better than expected but very conservative with no large fish. I think we will go back next Christmas.
