Comments Coconut Bay hotel was nice and the food was quite good. Employees were exceeedingly friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, if you intend to dive this is not the hotel to stay at. Coconut Bay resort is on southeast end of island and all the dive operations are a considerable distance away. If we did not have 4 persons, from our hotel, for the cab, dive operator would not send one. When sent each person, 4 or more, had to pay $20 for the cab fare to the dive shop. The ride took 45 minutes over the winding roads.

The diving was OK but there was not much in the way of big fish. The dive masters and boat personell were friendly and helpful, but always kept dives short. Typically 45 minutes on first dive and any dive that was below 60 ft. and usually included the 3 minute safety stop. This was adhered to strictly. Boat carried both divers and snorkelers. Boat would drop off divers, and then proceed to another location with snorkelers. The boat would then return and pick up divers, and go back and pick up snorkelers. This probably explains the restriction of 45 minutes on the dive. Typically 45 to 50 minute surface interval were maintained. Second dives were usually shallower and may have lasted 50 to 55 minutes. Most dives were drift dives, however, except at Superman's flight, the current was minimal.

Lunch was provided aboard the boat and was good, as well as water and fruit drink.

Best dives in my book were Anse Cochon south because of the great number of fish, which explains why it is sometimes called the nursery and Petit Piton which is a wall that extends down to 70 or 80 ft. at the first shelf and to 2400 ft. above sea level.
