Comments I made arrangements for a week of diving at the end of a liveaboard trip (Caribbean Explorer II). Got prompt response to my initial email inquiry, setting up schedule for week (some days, am, some pm, depending on whether they had a morning snorkel trip). Pickup & dropoff from hotel was included. Auston (driver/DM) and Margot (wife, booking agent and shop) made me feel very welcome. Dive sites chosen daily on conditions and what I wanted to do. Maximum number of divers that week was 7, but the boat can hold up to 15 or so. Germaine (crew) sets up your gear and changes tanks. Steep ladder, but you can take off your BC combo and hand it up if climbing is a problem. Boat has canopy covering the sitting/gear area. Auston and Terry (DM/instructor) lead guided dives, based on divers' ability and experience. We did several dives down to 80-90 feet on reefs, looking for rays, turtles, eels. Auston found two frogfish on one site. Visibility wasn't as good as it could be due to windy conditions and a storm the previous week, but it was good enough close to the top of the reef. Several wrecks provided interesting places to look for critters. Will rinse and store your gear if you're diving more than one day. I didn't see rinse tanks, but I'd planned to take my gear back to the hotel and wash it in the tub at the end of the week anyway. Bring your own snacks (water and soda provided), since the onsite restaurant doesn't open until 6:30 pm. No head on boat, but restrooms at dock. A few trips, there were Discover Scuba Diving divers, with a separate DM. They looked like they were treated very well, so I wouldn't be hesitant to book if you're just starting or have a non-diver traveling companion. I'll be back in the next year or so.
