UW Photo Comments After a week on the CE II (see my report), I spent a week at the timeshare at the Marriott. Arranged in advance with DSK for 3 days of diving, ended up doing 5 days at total cost of $365. Dive operation located at Bird Rock Hotel. Pick up and return from your hotel is included, and a rum punch at the pool after the dives while waiting for your ride. Due to reduced visibility (wind, storm at end of week), we ended up diving close-in reefs and the wrecks (River Taw and Corinthian tug). Reefs covered with lots of algae, few large fish. Most of the dive time was spent slowly cruising for small stuff and critters than like to hide (such as spotted drums, eels, lobster, etc.) or looking for lionfish for DM Danny to hunt. Crew will set up your gear on the boat, change over tanks, wash your scuba unit (BC and regs) for you. You just have to dunk your wetsuit in the rinse tank, hang it up, and store your fins/mask, etc. in the shed if you want to leave it for the next time trip. Great not to have to haul wet gear back to the hotel every day. Capt. Crabby drives the boat. Briefings are thorough, done in classroom with whiteboard. River Taw site, despite viz of 30-40 feet, was actually the best dives, since there are lots of bigger fish (such as angels), schools of snapper, grunts, and regular hangout spots for lobsters, etc. As I mentioned in my CE II review, best St. Kitts diving is only reachable from a liveaboard (far northern and southern sites). However, it was pretty decent diving for the price (worked out to $36/tank for 10 dives). Cheaper than going on a snorkel sail or an eco-tour, so I ended up doing 10 dives instead of my planned 6. Separate camera rinse bucket on board, but we didn't have any serious photographers (a few Go-pros). No head on boat; probably a maximum of 12 dives; the most we had on any day was 7 or 8 (August is slow season).
