Comments Above everything, safety is important but many dive operations can be lax about attending to safety details. Yet, the owners and staff of Golden Rock, Glenn and Michelle were very attentive to our safety which I appreciated immensely. For one, the staff directed us to use the anchor for descents and ascents which, in itself, prevents many accidents.

In addition, staff dealt very effectively with a dive issue my dive buddy arrived with. Kerry had had a problem the her BCD and injured her ears in an uncontrolled ascent on a prior dive trip to Honduras and was very insecure about diving again. I informed the staff and they took special care with her at the outset, giving her and me pointers on our diving and staying close to her especially in the beginning of our week there.

In another instance, one of the owners, Glenn was diving with us one day and noticed me struggling with my BCD, which it so turned out was re-inflating on its own. He disconnected my cable once he figured out it was malfunctioning. That was another big wake-up call for us, GET YOUR BCD SERVICED WITH REGUARLITY! We had grown sloppy about that maintenance but always had our regulators serviced on a yearly basis.

The operation also allows each diver to choose the level of assistance desired with regard to setting up your gear for dives and entering and exiting dives. We choose the max assistance and were well-cared for.

The above data demonstrate how personally attentive and responsive this dive operation is. Plus, they were all warm and interesting people. Michelle, another of the owners was great with hospitality and handling all of the details of our dive trip. There was not a snag in the process and everyone on the staff gave us plenty of tips on local restaurants and sights. We had a fun and relaxed time aboard their well-equipped dive boats. I'll definitely dive with them again!
