Comments This was our second try diving Saba in two years, having been stuck in St. Maarten for two days last time due to a tropical storm. This time a hurricane went through a couple weeks earlier, causing poor visibility on some dives, and a storm affected our diving towards the end of our week, but we only missed one dive and were able to enjoy the pinnacles and other dive sites. Several sharks, mostly nurse sharks, were spotted, along with various types of eels, a few turtles, tiny spotted drum fish, mantis shrimp, and other fish and critters.

The flights from Pittsburgh to Saba and then into Saba were uneventful, although we were a little concerned about our flight out of Saba for a while, due to the weather. We stayed at Juliana’s again; I noticed that the quality of room cleanliness went downhill a bit since our last stay. Towels weren’t picked up from the floor for three days, fresh towels weren’t immediately provided, floors appeared unswept, and sinks and toilets weren’t cleaned.

We ate breakfasts and a couple dinners at the Tropics Cave, part of Juliana’s. Meals were good and served promptly. This time around we were able to enjoy the entire meal package, each night at a different restaurant, and all were enjoyable, especially the desserts!

Our last day on Saba several of the gang climbed up to the top of Mt. Scenery, which never cleared up for them, and four of us did a short hike to the abandoned sulphur mine, which had great views and many goats unhappy about our intrusion.

The diving sounds pretty unexceptional.

I dove there and was happy with the dives. Sorry the weather did not give you anything else to say about Saba. The Island is a place where after the dives you could relax and have a drink or what have you or go for a hike at various places. Never too hot and the rain is an island thing. When Diving I saw my favorite thing to see and those were morays. They look so nice and swim or glide so smoothly I like watching them. One day they were in squadron form. Bunches of them. I am going back for sure.
