Comments Very untouristy - no high rises, no chain businesses (because there are no beaches). Beautiful island, well-maintained cottages - mostly white with red roofs and green shutters. No slums. Friendly people. Most "happening" town is Windwardside, with a few small (5-10 room) hotels, and some good restaurants. Best meal was at Brigadoons. Wanted to try, but couldn't get into The Rainforest (Ecolodge's restaurant).

Dive routine is: get picked up in AM by taxi (van), and take entertaining/scenic ride (this is a VERY vertical island) down to the one small bay/marina, motor out, do a two tank dive, return, and either stick around for the one tank afternoon dive, or return by waiting taxi to hotel for lunch and afternoon hike.

Would probably stay at Juliana's next time - there would be less traffic noise than at Scout's Place. Friday night was burger/movie night at The Tropics (Juliana's restaurant), and fun Karaoke at the restaurant/bar at Scout's Place. Sea Saba had the only dive shop in town - the other two dive outfitters are located down at the marina. Don't bother with a rental car - either walk or take a taxi. The road is extremely narrow and STEEP, and there are good hiking trails all over.
