Comments "High volume but good quality. Did a great job of accommodating the varied experience levels of our group."
We only had a few days to dive and our group of four ranged from a newly certified Open Water diver to a Dive Master and an Instructor. Camel Dive Club Na'ama Bay runs an organized and efficient operation - they have a fleet of boats and offer a punctual complimentary shuttle from area hotels to their shop (they have a dedicated dive hotel onsite but it was booked.)We were assigned a numbered plastic crate for our gear for the duration of our trip -the crate went from boat to boat, depending on the trip destination. Staff loaded gear on the boat. It's a short walk from the shop to the boat. The boats are roomy with a rear platform for giant stride entry and open ladders for fins-on exit. Unless you've dived with them before, Camel requires that your first 2 dives be at a "local site" (one of the nearshore reefs.) We hated to waste time on this but it turned out to be a good thing - it allowed us to fine tune our weighting for the higher salinity of the Red Sea and it gives the staff a chance to "vet" divers before taking them to sites where the coral is in great shape. The dive briefs were excellent. All dives were guided - our guide the second day had 18 years of professional dive experience, including several as a marine scientist. Clearly still in love with diving, she was great at finding and identifying critters large and small. She also went up with our newly certified diver when he was low on air, allowing the three more experinced divers in our group to get a full hour of dive time. We'll be back and will allow more time for diving.
