Comments I spent 9 weeks in Egypt including Sharm el Sheikh, the Sinai desert, Cairo, and Alexandria and saw absolutely NO problems with any unrest, etc. It's too bad our media has downplayed travel there, but this is giving the reefs and fish populations a chance to catch up due to the lack of divers on the reefs. Most Europeans are still diving the Red Sea, somewhat delighted that Americans seem to afraid to come.

The Aeolus is an excellent boat with an excellent crew including a chef on board. Accommodations are very comfortable (4 double staterooms, so not a cattle boat) with plenty of storage, private bathrooms and showers for each cabin, and internet is available when not moored behind the mountains. There are about a dozen shipwrecks to visit and penetrate including the world-famous SS Thistlegorm.

The reefs have an abundance of fish life, as well as hard and beautiful soft corals. Sea fans can be 10' across or more and wall dives are spectacular especially when inundated with the colorful dancing anthias! There are a few drift dives available where divers pass huge schools of jacks, snappers, surgeonfish and more. Dolphin interactions are sporadic but heavenly every time.

The captain is a technical diving instructor, so certified tech diving is allowed with doubles, rebreathers, etc. There are a few canyons that tech divers really enjoy, and most end up on shallower reef areas for off-gassing. Deeper dives such as this will usually require a zodiac ride either to the dive site or from the dive site, and other dives may be done from the Aeolus and back to the Aeolus, depending on any currents.

Anyone wanting to visit the Red Sea and be guaranteed a great experience on a great liveaboard should look into booking this boat.
