Comments This is an SSI-affiliated operation and is a bit cheaper than others on Bounty Beach, which is the main hotel / resorts area in the South of the small island of Malapascua. Staff is professional and helpful. Their own large dive boat was damaged during the last typhoon and was still being repaired on the beach in front of the resort. So I dived a local site (Deep Rock) using their small dinghy, and the other sites on other large boats by other operators. In all cases, I had a Dive Master from Little Mermaid accompanying me. Only to Gato Island our group extended to include two other dive companions.

Saw only one large thresher shark on Monad Shoal during my sole, early morning dive there. The weather was not really good and the visibility poor, so I did not go a second time.

Deep Rock is a nice underwater pinnacle, where we had an easy drift dive and enjoyed the varied hard and soft corals and small creatures, but no big fish. Gato Island is amazing. Beautiful site, really top-notch, with many white-tip sharks swimming around in its caves, and with palm-sized sea horses. I saw two, a yellow one and a black one, and I could have stayed there watching them for ever.
