Comments We dove in Dumaguete 7 years ago and liked muck diving there. This time, we loved it. We even thought diving at some sites was better than Lembeh Strait. The resort guarantees diver-to-guide ratio of 4:1, but ours was 2:1. Another couple who shared the same boat with us also had their own guide.

My happy sightings: mating nudibranch with emperor shrimps on top, a pair of wonderpus, skeleton shrimp babies, baby dragonet, winged pipefish, little leaf sheep nudibranch, anemonefish eggs, and pregnant pygmy seahorses. I was able to see some of the tiniest creatures only on my zoomed-in camera screen, but not by my own eyesight.

The resort has a dedicated camera room, but we did our camera work in our room, where there is more room and stronger air-conditioning.

We learned that during our stay, a diver saw a baby Rhinopia at a frequented dive site. It is said to be the first ever encounter of the fish in Dumaguete. If they continue to spot a Rhinopia, I will have to go back.

We had truly 5-star luxurious experience at this resort. Everything about the resort was fancy: well-appointed spacious room (they call each standard room a suite) and beautifully landscaped gardens. We felt its high price was justified particularly after the fantastic diving experience.

All meals were a la carte from their expansive menu. Food and service was excellent, except (here again) that it was delivered often very slowly. At one count, we had to wait over 20 minutes for dessert. This slow dining-room service was the only negative thing about this resort. (We had the same exact experience at the nearby Atlantis Resort we stayed 7 years ago.) I would prefer buffet-style dining for a dive resort.
