Comments Tubbataha on Atlantis Azores was a great trip to see the big stuff...diving was mostly very good with lots of sharks, tuna, several whale sharks,& even a Thresher shark...reefs were healthy...current always made for a fishey dive.Sometimes huge schools of snappers, jacks,& cudas,& many green turtles.Tubbataha area protection & very limited yearly use has paid off in a big way! The diving is worth the long trip.Atlantis Azores provides a good platform for diving in this remote area.Best & most food I've ever had on a liveaboard...great variety at breakfast & lunch.Dinner was ordered.Cabins were very small on the starboard side of the boat...the bed took up the entire floor space & there were no drawers at all...luckily we travel light.Port side cabins had more floor space & cabinets.Four well run dives each day were led by dive guides.Large dive deck & camera table. Our entire week had perfect weather & glassy sea surface...81-82 water temp & good vis.Next stop Anilao & Crystal Blue Resort for all the small critters...lots of nudis, muck critters, octopus,& morays.Four days of four dives each day with plenty to keep us interested. We were upgraded to one of their villas so lots of space after the cramped liveaboard cabin.Clean, simple dive resort is nothing fancy but all works very well...eat dinner while you enjoy the ocean & sunset after a good day of diving. This was a great dive combo trip...large to small underwater residents & liveaboard to landbased all in one trip. This was an Island Dreams group trip which was very well done in all respects.
