Comments The acommodations were really nice for us. Others had rooms that were not so nice (bad smell and/or poor drainage). Staff and food were great. Boats were ok... not too comfortable, but most of the trips were less than 60 minutes from shore. Gorgeous location. Spectacular reefs with incredible density of fish life. Most of the fish in the small to medium size range. Occasional cuttlefish, turtle and occasional shark, usually white-tip. Most of the dives were on large pinnacles so the navigation was easy. Dive guides were friendly and acommodating but not knowledgeable about the sea life. (note to management: buy a fish id book!). Safety stops were easy and relaxing, usually at the top of a pinnacle. Twighlight/night dive at the pier revealed amazing life amongst the debris: mandarin fish, many types of lion fish, bobtail squid, Expect the unexpected when it comes to air transport! Our plans went awry due to an airline crash and the resort arranged for charter flight for us; the resort staff were incredibly nice, helpful, and acommodating. For commercial flights, be sure to respect weight limits for luggage. If you were on an international flight to get there, Air Niugini is a bit more liberal. Before you leave, print out the weight restrictions and present the paperwork at the counter if they try to charge you extra. Enjoy the food and the friendly animals (wallaby, hornbill, and couscous). There's been a change of managment in the past year or so. The new managers are very nice and acommodating but are also focused on transforming the resort into a meeting destination so there was lots of building going on.
