Comments Air Niuginni runs on island time. Make sure you have an adequate layover if returning to the states via Fiji. No problems with baggage. Check online for latest information.
This was my first time to PNG and the Coral sea. Captan Greg was accommodating and helpful. He would direct the dives and ensure safety. Helen and Else cooked up a wide variety of food that was better than most restaurants. The staff always has a smile and is ready to help point out critters. They were willing to help one of the passengers that had a mild mobility impairment in and out of their gear and the water.
You should be comfortable in the water before coming to this area. The sea is changing all the time. However, this has to be the most diversified underwater life for any one location. The only thing I didn't see was a whale. You can not beat the diving. We experienced reefs never seen before.
We were out to sea for 14 days. Only a few equipment malfunctions occurred. They were fixed in a timely manner.
The ship will soon be headed down for the summer to dry dock in Australia.
