Comments We stayed at Marbella Suites which is about 17km from Cabo San Lucas. A world of difference - no timeshare vultures, no people walking the beach with hats, etc., just quiet, calm and relaxing. $99 for a very clean two bedroom suite with kitchen, pool and on the beach. Can't beat that! Air in the bedrooms and they worked perfectly. Very nice and helpful staff. Staying close or in CSL means you will be pushed (even at meals) to buy a timeshare. Gets old really fast so I vote stay far from town and drive in. Marbella fits that bill and at a fraction of the price of the mega resorts near by.
Sunshine did a fine job of taking care of me and my wife. They take care of your gear once you get it there. Nitrox was free and 31%. On each dive it was my wife and I, along with a newer diver. No problem since when he/she got low on air, the DM would take them up to the boat and then return to us for the rest of the hour. We were never rushed. The best dive around Cabo is Land's End. With the mixing of the Pacific and Cortez waters, we saw schools of snapper and grunts, three rays and the sea lions came down to play. Wow, the males are big! This was the only location were you didn't hear the sound of boat motors.
One gripe about diving around Cabo is the constant boat traffic. The buzz of the motors is never ending. Between the dive boats, the water taxis and the massive party boats, there was never a time when you could relax and listen to the sound of the sea. The smaller boats do not seem to worry about running over divers so don't try coming up in open water. Only when we turned the corner and dived the Pacific did the buzzing stop. Sadly, to get a boat to go out of the area, you need a small group and there was just the two of us this trip.
