Comments Nautilus has responded well to increased safety concerns. Covid tests are required prior to boarding, masks are required on-board, sanitizing stations and limited indoor occupancy in the salon / dining area. Fire precautions have been enhanced with fire suppression systems, alarms, crew fire drills and passenger instructions regarding charging stations. After the past 18-months it was nice to see Nautilus attention to these issues and a great way to start the dive trip.
Sites included San Benedicto, Roco Partida and Socorro. Dives ranged from full on adrenaline rushes with ongoing manta and shark encounters surrounded by large schools of fish to fairly desolate tours of interesting underwater terrain. As their brochure says, this isn’t Disneyland so you never know what you’ll get from dive to dive. We experienced light currents but were warned that currents can change unexpectedly and be strong.
Captain Beto and Dive Guides Stein, Juan and Pascal were a very positive team. They were accommodating in terms of seeking the best encounters. They worked together to make sure everyone had a great dive week based on their personal dive interests.
During this trip the Mexican Government is currently charging $75 USD per day to dive in this National Park. Nautilus offers a credit on some of it's offerings to offset some of this fee.

UW Photo Comments Covered outdoor camera deck with plenty of charging stations. BEWARE: Customs at the Cabo airport nailed half of the passengers with duties for "accessories" related to UW photography. Officials were not able to produce anything in writing to explain this law. First they said it was for "professional" gear and then they said anything over $3,000 USD. The charges varied and equipment they were targeting varied. Really unfortunate welcome to Mexico.

I wonder if Beto was on the Cocos Aggressor previously? Great guy! That camera issue has been an ongoing problem coming into Cabo. Too bad.
