Comments This was my fourth trip on the Nautilus Explorer and the best yet. The giant Pacific mantas, hammerheads, dolphins and other pelagics were abundant. If you have not yet swam with these mantas you are in for a special treat. They are huge and very friendly, continuously circling around the cleaning areas and actually initiating human interaction. Truly an epic trip and expedition.
The Nautilus outfit is second to none for running quality expeditions. The Explorer captain, crew and accommodations are first rate. Their knowledge of the area is remarkable and they are extremely friendly and willing to help in any way possible. Safety is of paramount importance with this outfit and I always felt that they were totally in control of all aspects of the trip. Whether it be operation of the boat or while divers are in the water. They provide all divers with the free use of their Lifeline radios for the duration of the trip which is a unique safety component.
The standard cabins are well maintained and quite comfortable - more than adequate. I have also stayed in one of the suites which are a nice upgrade if available. The chef and food is way above average and always fresh while providing a good variety each day and meal.
I would recommend this expedition to anyone who wants to experience a quality liveaboard while diving a remote and awesome location.
