Comments The Nautilus Belle Ami is one of the nicest liveaboards I have been on (more than 50 of them!) I elected a single cabin (modest upcharge compared to other operators) the Nautilus suite. Large king bed, AC, private bathroom, large cabin windows. I had some issues with the AC (which have subsequently been resolved) and they had to replace my toilet during the trip. The food was generally very good especially breakfast and lunch. Dinners were a little uneven. I found the dinners to be salty, but after I mentioned it to the staff, they resolved that problem for me. The staff, from stewards and stewardesses to crew to dive masters to captain are all top notch. I have found this to be true on all of my Nautilus trips (10 to date).
We dove 3 main areas: San Benedicto: viz varied from excellent to 25 feet. This is a volcanic island and there is a lot of ash on the bottom. If a storm comes through, or heavy wave action, the bottom gets stirred up and viz goes to crap. We saw giant Mantas on every dive here, dolphins, & 3 tiger sharks deep. We moved over to Socorro for one day where we encountered heavy current but not much else. We then went to Roca Partida where we had schools of Galapagos sharks, hammerheads, lots of white tips, and 2 whale sharks. The whale sharks hung around for all 4 dives. I also found mating octopus on the wall. After the excitement at Roca, we returned to San Ben where unfortunately the viz deteriorated but we still had good encounters with mantas and sharks.

UW Photo Comments Large camera tables with plenty of space. Lots of charging stations available. I was never crowded. It seems the days of the huge camera rigs are over. we had a few big setups (mine included) but mostly point and shoots and GoPros.
