Comments [None]Costa Baja is a 5 star hotel- probably best in La Paz. service and accommodations at hotel excellent. Near Marina and in walking distance to two local and pretty good restaurants ( but these more expensive than in town since they are located in an upscale marina).Cortez Club facilities are a bit seedy but they are very good boat operators , know where the dive sites are and very knowledgeable re sea life. La Paz was just getting over a big storm when I arrived , so vis not quite as good as usual and saw no hammerheads at the sea Mount where they often swim. But it's a quick trip from LAX on Aero Mexico (2hours) and for those wanting luxury in accommodations Cota Baja is the hotel- includes a Gary Player-designed golf course. I have dove about 4-5 times with Cortez and find it always reliable and well run. It is attached to a hotel ( La Concha) which has much cheaper rates than Costa Baja and if you have spent nights in both places as I have you will immediately see why. But if you don't mind some privation and are intent on cheap accommodations, La Concha is right adjacent to Cortez Club ( Cortez at no extra charge picked me up and dropped me off each day in the Marina a very short walk to Costa Baja).
