Comments This was our 3rd trip to Kurumba Resort and 4th to Maldives. Currently living in Asia so fairly easy to travel to Maldives. Euro Divers do a good job for selecting dive sites and ensuring all divers have good time on every dive. Most dives had 5-8 divers although one had 18 with many beginners. On the large group dive the divers was split on experience where the more experience entered first on one section and the others on another starting point so this avoided many people on same part of the reef. The boat is set up with tanks in middle and giant stride entry from side. The crew is very helpful with gear preparation and help when entering and exiting the water. We had some strong currents to swim against on several dives which limited some bottom time but mainly all dives where drift with the current. We saw 30 or more sharks at the channel as we hit it right on the incoming current and occasional sharks on other dives. At Lankan dive site we saw 3-4 mantas as it has 2 cleaning stations but sometimes it is empty so it is just a matter of timing. Euro Divers offered 3 dives a day - 2 in the morning and 1 in afternoon. They returned to the dive center after the first morning dive so if you only wanted to do one of the morning dives you could either depart at 0830 or at 1030 or do both. The afternoon dive was at 2pm. This was very helpful and allowed us to do more dives if we elected to miss the early morning dive. Lots of lion fish, many turtles and eels and overall good diving. Most dive sites are within 15-30 mins of dive center so you do not get a wide as variety as a live aboard but if you enjoy diving and then relaxing on the beach in late afternoon - it is perfect - hence our 3rd visit to Kurumba. We have also done the house reef which is nice and also snorkel around the house reef. We have seen more sharks on the house reef then we do on the normal dive sites (except for the channel dives).
The Kurumba Resort is very nice with 7 restaurants and a variety of room types to select from. All are on beach and easy access to swimming and snorkeling as well as other water sports if you have the interest. We plan to return in latter 2012.

UW Photo Comments If you do close up then good selection of eels, fish, etc. As vis not always great, distance shots of mantas and sharks may not be as sharp. These were just day boats so all set up done in hotel room. Boat had fresh water shower to rinse. We got some good shots and the video was OK for the mantas.
