Comments Ten day trip with REEF.org group to survey and estimate fish populations. The boat was very flexible about meeting our needs and requests for low current areas where we could take our time and search for a variety of habitats. Since we had the whole boat we could dictate the style of diving. I spent the previous week on the Aggressor where I had no voice in the diving, so this was a relief. We managed to find many protected areas, some quite beautiful, but sadly many areas of coral rubble due to extensive bleaching and massive construction of resorts. One dive had a fantastic encounter with several Silvertip sharks and Reef Mantas. The dive tender allows an easy giant stride off the back deck, with a small ladder to get back on. Crew was all local and fantastic- very helpful. Food was great, rooms comfortable. Showing a bit of age but everything worked.

I hope the far south has healthier coral, but I doubt I will make the long trip back to find out. Too many other places to go!
