Comments This was our second liveaboard trip in the Maldives. Last year we were on the Baani Explorer and enjoyed it so much we returned this year and tried the Baani Adventure. We had a very clean and spacious cabin with large single bed, closet, desk and easy chair. Luggage could be stashed under the bed. The AC had a minor leak but was fixed as soon as we reported it and it worked fine the whole week. Spotless bathroom with large shower. This is not an Aggressor type operation but it's not a "rough it" operation either. Chef is Sri Lankan so food is good and sometimes spicy but there are several choices at each meal. Lots of deck space and lounge chairs for relaxing. All gear stays on a separate boat (local "dhoni" style boat) from which we dive. So no compressor noise while on the mother ship - a great system. The crew were super helpful and set up all gear and helped as much or as little as one requires. Easy entry and exit which we baby boomers appreciate. Very detailed predive plan which could be shortened as attention spans are not long early in the morning. The Maldives has beautiful diving and these folks know where to find the good sites. Our only problem was the initial lack of grouping more experienced divers together but after talking it over with the director - that problem was solved. We were the only Americans on board but we had a wonderful week with Aussies, Swiss, German, Austrian and French divers. The Baani boats are a great value even with the three dives a day limit. Stayed one night at the Hulhule Island Hotel next to the airport (beautiful room and pool area) before boarding a seaplane to the Conrad Hilton Rangali Resort for more diving (see separate report). That seaplane ride was a high point of the trip and the barefoot pilot and copilot sort of set the tone of what a vacation should be.
