Comments This was my third trip on the Maldives Aggressor, so they must be doing something right, and they are.

The entire crew is very customer service oriented & they will do whatever possible to make your voyage as pleasant as possible. The food was reasonably good for liveaboard food, although the cook had a tendency to overcook meat & fish. His pastas were amazingly good, especially since he was from Sri Lanka. Lots of fruits & veggies available with meals, as well as fruit drinks. Breakfast & lunch were always great as well as the deserts.

All diving was done from a 40+ ft diving Dhoni, a separate boat used
only for diving. This boat was well equipped as a diving vessel.
The standard routine was 4 dives per day, starting at 7AM. Dives were selected to present a wide mix of terrains and areas to see a variety of species...large and small. They tried like heck to find us a whale shark, going to all the right places, but luck was not on our side this week. Apparently they saw 3 WS's on the previous voyage. We did see a wide variety of Maldives marine life from the macro, to swarms of the amazing tropicals there, to sharks, rays and some really huge giant trevallys and nurse sharks. There were some areas where there had to be literally thousands of schooling fish around us, truly amazing. In general, the coral was very healthy, beautiful, and impressive. Although, a few areas still had some evidence of the bleaching damage from 12 years ago. We encountered moderate current in a few areas, but it was not the norm.

It came down to the next to the last day of diving and we had not seen a Manta at any of the normal cleaning stations. The Manager knew that we all wanted to see mantas. So he called his divemaster buddies & found out that the Mantas were still regularly seen back at the Male Atoll,7 hours away. To accommodate the divers, he turned the boat around & we sailed overnight to get to Male Atoll for our last day of diving. We had two great Manta dives to conclude our voyage. Pretty good customer service !

I'd go back in a heartbeat, although it is a very long trip from the USA. Saying that, half the people on the boat were Americans.
