Comments Diving was easy, circling coral pinnacles inside the lagoons or drifting along the outside walls. Visibility inside was somewhat limited (20-40 ft) but was excellent along the outside. although we did not see any whale sharks, the other large life was abundant. Mantas, eagle rays, trevallies, tunas, rainbow runners, turtles, and others were seen cruising around the pinnacles. Currents were easily manageable and we were rather well briefed on areas with stronger currents/drift dives.

The reefs are in good shape with lots of life. Lots of reef fish and other critters.

Weather was warm with gentle trades. Generally sunny with some overcast and a few, sometimes heavy, showers.

Water was warm with most diving 2-3 mm shorties or skins.

The Maldives aggressor is a 115 ft sailing vessel with a max of 20 divers. 14 were present for this trip. My stateroom was rather large in comparison with some of the other liveaboards I have experienced, clean, ensuite. The salon/dining were of good quality with a nice variety of foods; usually chicken, fish and beef offered for most meals. note that pork is not permitted in the Maldives. Cuisine was a blend of Indian, Sri Lankan and Maldivian influences.

From Hawaii, the trip to the Maldives was long (about 20 hours flight time each way), but pleasant; Honolulu, HI > Tokyo, Japan > Seoul S. Korea > Columbo, Sri Lanka >, Male, Maldives and back. Airports were clean and easy to navigate. Baggage was checked all the way oming and going and did not get lost or damaged.

All in all, I would rate this trip as the standard quality the aggressor and dancer fleets are generally known for. The diving was relatively easy and worth doing. The vessel was safe and comfortable.

UW Photo Comments Basic setup with 220 V and 110 V charging station and 2 level dry, carpeted camera table. With only 14 (max 20) divers onboard and the small size of today's photo equipment, the space and facilities were easy to work with. Crew exercised care in moving the cameras from the vessel to/from the dive dohni. Clean fresh water rinse/soak on the dive dohni
