Comments So..my husband wanted to go someplace different and I wanted someplace easy! Yes, I checked the Chapbook and found 2 very old not so good reviews but so many people say "Jamaica is great" so we went. First the bad - the Iberostar Resorts are usually great - this one was more like a two star hotel but with a nice room. The staff was useless and rude. I've tried to tell myself I hated it because it is HUGE - we are accustom to smaller places. We made the best of the diving that we could on over-fished and disregard reefs. To see fish cages sitting on top of the reef with stingrays and puffer fish inside was very very sad - I would not allow Mark to sneak wire cutters down. There are NO large fish. Now for the good - Dressel Divers (operate out of Iberostar resorts) saved the trip. They are fine tuned and their goal is to make every dive the best it can be. Because they are not accustomed to many experienced divers in that location, they usually only do two trips a day but we went expecting at least four and they completely accommodated us. Many dives the manager, Ian, took us on private dives. We did see some really cool small stuff including the biggest fire worm I have ever seen. Because we do have A lot of experience we could spot the micro sea life. Bottom line - DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME but if you just have to go - dive with Dressel Divers. We could have gone to Turtle Caye in Honduras for 1/2 the cost and it would have been beautiful. Oh well - WE DIVE AND LEARN.
