Comments Our experience at Wakatobi Resort was super. Staff are friendly and helpful, and we were amazed that everyone seemed to know our names. Schedule is breakfast, dive, surface interval on the boat or the boat might come back to the resort for ~15min, second dive, back to the resort for lunch, and then an afternoon or dusk/night dive, before dinner. Unlimited shore dives, and the house reef is as good as the many dive sites.

We only stayed at the resort Mon - Fri, which may have been too short. Stays are dependent on the charter flight schedule.

Dive team members and staff move your equipment and wetsuit on/off the boat. You just have to show up on time, and we took our cameras on/off the boat ourselves. Nitrox is available, with both standard and big tanks. If it is low tide when you need on/off the boats, they shuttle you via dingy. Boats have good space for gear and people. Snacks on the boats include small sandwiches, fruit, cookies, water or tea, hot chocolate, etc. Staff is very helpful, and dive guides point out interesting critters. Dive briefings are informative.

Food at the resort is served buffet style. At some meals you can also request the "special dish" (like omelets, pasta). Alcohol and sodas are extra.

Bungalows are very comfortable and quiet. The resort only accommodates a limited number of guests. During our visit, many people were from Australia, Europe, USA and Canada.

UW Photo Comments Camera room at the resort was convenient to the dive center. It had adequate space for everyone using it, including outlets for charging batteries. Rinse tanks are outside the camera room, and accommodate large and small equipment. There were separate towels to use with cameras. There is a photographer pro on site, who seems knowledgeable about most cameras and their settings. He also offers classes; had a friend who took his one-day class, which was one-on-one, and the improvement in the person's pictures was incredible. Wish we had been at the resort longer as we might have also done a class.
