Comments We had visited the resort 10 years ago when it first opened as Maluku Divers. Ambon, then and now has had great muck diving. Over the 10 years, the resort has had major additions with an outdoor dining area connected to a lounge area, a spacious camera room and a huge dive prep area with multiple rinse tanks dedicated to cameras and various types of dive gear. In addition to the 10 bures, there are now also garden rooms. The biggest change was the addition of a floating dock.

The bures were spacious and comfortable.

The food was tasty, consisting primarily of seafood and chiken dishes. While there were set menus at lunch and dinner, they easily accomodated those who did not want a particular dish.

The diving was typical muck. Lots of small critters living in a rocky or sandy bottom. There is now less, but still a lot of trash on the bottom, some of it has become homes for the sea-life. And there is still a lot of floating trash.
The resort staff brings the gear and cameras to the boats. Divers just had to carry their masks. A typical day was a 2 tank dive at around 8 in the morning, coming back to the resort for lunch and then a 3pm afternoon dive. Optional night dives and black water dives were available. The guides were very good at finding the small critters and the staff helpful with gearing up and allowing gear to be taken off in the water and handed up to the boatman. The only problem we found with the boats was the spacing of the rungs of the ladder being large which made it harder for those with knee problems to climb back aboard. The resort manager said they are planning to replace those ladders.

UW Photo Comments Spacious camera room with power outlets and a small light and towels at each station. Compressed air was available. A short walk from the camera rooms to the rinse tanks. The staff would carry cameras to and from the boats.
