Comments OK off the top this was maybe one of the very best dive locations I have ever been to so far as diving. Certainly right up there with Wakatobi in terms of the health of the dive locations (and so MANY of them)and well ahead of that dive location when it comes to Giant Mantas. Raja Ampat is just a physically beautiful location with primo dive sites. What puts this place over the top is the large numbers of Manta Birostris that we saw. I went to Raja Ampat expecting plenty of great reef fish (there are so many varieties there) but was blown away by the Giant Manta population. I love Mantas and felt the Socorro Islands were the place to be but no longer. The number and health of soft corals is absolutely amazing too. If you are a photographer you will be in heaven here. IT is a pretty long journey to get there but WELL worth the trek. We stayed on the Seven Seas liveaboard and were not disappointed in their service, food (plenty of that) or accomodations. This is a wonderful boat and crew. Their Cruise Director Stew Esposito is exceptional with very, very good knowledge of all dive locations. I cannot think of ANY bad thing that I would mention about their program or boat. Be sure to get a copy of Burt Jones/Maurine Shimlock book Diving Indonesi's Raja Ampat before you go. The info on all the dive sites is wonderful and very exact in details. One last thing regards currents............on some dive sites you will encounter medium to strong currents so be aware. This may an issue for newer divers. I think if you are an experienced diver you would get the maximum benfits from this location.

UW Photo Comments Nothing fantastic with regards to setup. There was nothing missing that you would need. Plenty of space for cameras, enough sockets, and care taken by crew of all cameras. There were some large video and pic cameras on board and everyone had plenty of space.
