Comments This is the newest boat in the Peter Hughes fleet. As such, it had some 'new boat' kinks to work out, but nothing that appeared to compromise the safety of the vessel or its passengers. Also, this is their first season in Raja Ampats, so they are learning some of the intricacies of the dive sites and working their way from island to island. Over the course of our 11-day charter, we only missed one dive due to weather.

Overall the variety and concentration of corals and fish life was excellent. Dive conditions were easy and they did a good job of checking currents and alerting us to conditions. Briefings were thorough. Dive guides were there to lead the dive but it was not mandatory to follow them. 1 or 2 guides were with each group on every dive. The boat accommodated 18 divers and all diving was done from 2 tenders. Although they switched tanks and assembled gear for you, remember it is your responsibility to check your gear before you get in the water.

Cabins were spacious, with a simple desk, wardrobe, storage shelves and a complete bathroom with enclosed shower. By far, the largest room I've had on a liveaboard.

Breakfasts were made to order and served after the first morning dive. Lunch was buffet - after dive #2, afternoon snacks were after dive #3, and dinner was sit-down - after the night dive. All drinks were included.

UW Photo Comments I am not an U/W photographer, but the camera facilities in the front of the boat, adjacent to the dive deck seemed adequate. A rinse tank for camera gear was separate from the general gear rinse tank. Cameras were taken to/from the dive tenders by the crew.
