Comments This was my third trip onboard the Ocean Rover and my second trip to this location on this boat.

I was extremely impressed with the new owner's operation in N. Sulawesi. The Indonesian crew was fantastic. There were 4 dive guides and sometimes we had one guide for 2 divers! They have many years experience as guides in these waters and were great at finding critters whether we were muck diving in Lembeh or diving the volcano flow on Ruang.

Five dives were offered most days, beginning at 7:30 am, and the night dive was before dinner. Diving was done from two zodiacs. The whale tail design of the stern made it very easy to get on and off the zodiacs. It was an extremely diver friendly operation. The zodiacs had a substantial ladder for easy access from the water and the crew was quick to assist with your tank at the end of the dive.

The crew was the most enthusiastic I have ever encountered. They were quick to assist divers in suiting up before the dive briefing and were always there waiting when we returned... rinsing cameras, hanging up wetsuits, filling tanks, etc.

The diversity of diving on this itinerary was great. We traveled from Lembeh, to Biaro, Ruang, Tahulandang, Bangka, Pulaisan in N. Sulawesi, Bunaken and back to Lembeh. A 10 night itinerary gave us just the right amount of divng for such a long trip from the states.

The cabins on the Ocean Rover were very comfortable and very well maintained. All cabins had a large window. Linens were fresh and towels changed often.

The sundeck was well designed and a gathering place offering sun and shade. There were lounge chairs and comfortable built-in seating around the deck. A coffee/tea station with snacks and cold beverages was always available.

The main salon was very comfortable with dining buffet style and seating at two large tables. A complete library of reference books was onboard.

Overall this was my favorite liveaboard for diving, destination, comfort and crew! I look forward to experiencing their new itinerary in Raja Ampat soon......

UW Photo Comments Overall excellent facilities for u/w photographers. Large stations (6 to 8) located in the main salon with good lighting and plenty of 110 and 220 volt outlets. Plenty of camera towels for post dive wipedowns. Two large areas on the dive deck for cameras to be placed pre and post diving. Two large freshwater dip tanks dedicated to only cameras after each dive. The crew was experienced in handling cameras so you didn't feel nervous when they assisted you with your equipment. The boat has an easily acessible computer that anyone can use to download and work on your photos so it is not necessary to bring your personel computer. There is a large flat(maybe 50 to 60 inch)screen TV that is well located in the main salon for viewing "slide shows", etc.
Serious underwater photographers will be extremely happy on board the Ocean Rover.
