Comments I used this resort as a way-station before heading out on the Amira liveaboard for a Banda Sea cruise. I suited me well, allowing me to check out my camera gear under stable conditions and in warm water. The resort rooms are comfy, the grounds nice, the food good and the owners/boatmen/dive guides concerned that you have a fine time. With dive sites quite close, any boat ride was short. There were plenty of critters in the water but little coral growth and no pelagics while I was there, but we're situated by the town of Ambon with its shipping and traffic and junk in the water. It always saddens me to see how much human trash is on and in water near cities when I dive in Indonesia. However this provides critters with hiding places they might not get otherwise. Neat stuff to see: many frogfish, leaf scorpionfish, countless fire urchins - some with Coleman shrimp and zebra crabs riding them, large variety of shrimp, crabs, nudibranchs, flambouyant cuttlefish and other cuttlefish, reef squid both day and night, many peacock mantis shrimp and snake eels. The usual variety of scorpionfish and lionfish plus a two stonefish added venomous fish to our list of those to avoid contacting. Despite diving a site known as Rhino city, I didn't see Rhinopius there (but did two days later after transferring to the Amira and diving the site before we left).

I asked the owners to consider offering night divers a cup of hot chocolate when they arrived back from a venture, so hopefully that happens now. Otherwise, the operation runs quite well. There were few guests when I visited, so perhaps middle-May is a good time to consider visiting, especially if one has a further adventure coming.
