Comments The accommodations and food were very good. Indonesian service was gracious. Dive spotters were superb at finding the very small (almost invisible) and rare items such as a Wonderpus and Harlequin Shrimp. In my opinion sometimes their interest in the tiny was a fault as spotters would ignore larger critters that we could actually see :-) and find interesting. Some dive guides understood and spoke very little English but they were quick to find someone to answer questions and address any concerns. Visitors should know that this is MUCK diving and sometimes dive sites are unattractive ¬– such as between leaky old barges. Also, often the visibility is very limited and on some dives there may be long waits between seeing anything but murk and muck. But almost always spotters would find intriguing species and patiently point them out or stir them up for display. Our four days of diving included 2 or 3 dives in clear water with nice coral and fish. The dive master, Kaj (pronounced Kai) Maney is an excellent macro videographer (see website for Liquid Guru). His show at the resort is a must-see. There are great shots of many, many critters all close-up, well edited, good action and everything organized by species with educational commentary. My only complaint is that the speed boats at the resort were not very reliable. It could be that engines kept croaking because of all the “stuff” (including much trash) floating up and down the Lembeh Straight. However, the resort found adequate, though somewhat marginal rental boats. This resort and dive operation is a very good choice in my opinion for those interested in muck diving or who have never experienced it.
