Comments The diving in the Lembeh Strait is unparalleled if you are an underwater photographer and enjoy small critters. There are good coral formations with creatures like the Giant Frogfish. The muck diving sites reveal many unusual creatures seldom seen elsewhere - Wonderpus, Hairy Frogfish, Ambon Scorpionfish, etc etc. I joined Ned and Anna DeLoach's Fish and Critter Hunt and was not disappointed.

Eco Divers Resort is located in Bitung and is a 10-15 minute van ride to the dock. There you are transported to a small houseboat in the strait, and all diving is done from there via tenders. The ride to the dock is the only down-side I found to the resort. Otherwise the service was great, the food was very good (fair warning - I am not a foodie) and the staff was extremely accommodating. The cottages have several bedrooms with private baths and each cottage has a fully equipped camera room. It's a great situation for the serious underwater shooter.

The price of Eco Divers was quite reasonable. I paid $3000 USD single occupancy for 12 days of diving (3 dives a day), all meals, and accommodations.
