Comments 24 dives over 10 days. EPIC diving. Hundreds of nudibranchs, critters, and fish. FROG FISH: striated, painted, warty, spotted, and giant. Octopus: blue-ringed, mimic, coconut, starry night, white-v, and wonderpus. SEAHORSES: common, smooth, 3 types of pygmy sea horse. Pipefish, pipe horses, eels, snake eels, and kraits. Too many amazing and wonderful sights to list here. Night dives are incredible.
Excellent dive guides and boat crew.
Resort is attractive, but many, many steps. My room was 113 steps up from the boat. Rooms are nice, but hot. AC costs extra.
Resort staff is delightful.
Food is all Indonesian and very good. Eggs for breakfast. Tofu and Tempeh for vegetarians, but you must request.
The water is surprisingly cold for being on the equator. One day it was 77. There are amazing beautiful reefs as well as the famous black sand.
Dive guides tended to go to 60/70 feet to use up our air. We were diving a lot and wearing them out. There is so much to see, it is unbelievable.
I recommend diving at Lembeh first and then going to Bunaken so you can warm up. The water at Bunaken is 80-82.
I recommend using Safari Tours and Travel [manadosafaris.com link] to help with ground transfers, currency etc. They are great.
