Comments The resort really did look like the pictures. It was nothing fancy but rooms were on a dock above the water. All rooms had a screened lanai with a table, two chairs, and a hammock. The best part of the resort was the staff. All the staff were great but the owner, Rebecca, was exceptional. She was very hands on and went out of her way to make sure everyone was happy. The dive boat and crew were good. Of note, there was no Marine head. The boat had fresh water and crew offered snacks between dives. We typically did two morning dives and one afternoon dive. The dives were good but the visibility was not great (20-50 feet) which may have been due to the time of year. Diving on the north shore was exceptional with CJ’s Drop Off being the stand out. Unfortunately, due to weather conditions we were only able to dive the north shore on the last day of the trip. Overall, the reefs were very nice. However, some of the reefs seem to have about 30% coral bleaching with others still having some large health brain corals. That said, some in our group said the reefs were the best they had seen in the Caribbean. To me, I thought some of the reefs were beautiful but still felt Bonaire was better overall. Some reefs had a lot of fish and I saw more decent sized parrot fish than I expected. Other reefs had less fish. Regarding getting to Utila, there were issues getting everyone’s dive gear there due to weight limits on the local, puddle jumper flight. Most of our dive group did not get their gear until the next day. If I went back, I would consider a direct flight into Roatan followed by a ferry ride to Utila.
